Description

“You won't have a friend in the world ... even those who understand ... will despise you”

In 1950s Brooklyn, longshoreman Eddie Carbone prides himself on loyalty, family, and hard work.

When two of his wife’s cousins arrive illegally from Italy, he brings them into his home as the right thing to do.

But when one falls in love with his niece, Eddie’s protective instincts twist into something dangerous and expose a deep, unspeakable secret.

What begins as a close-knit domestic drama tightens into an absorbing and inevitable tragedy.

Arthur Miller’s modern classic explores codes of honour and love, justice and law, and asks what happens when desire, jealousy, and betrayal collide.
