How to donate and more

Support us

When we were forced to close our doors in March 2020, we were incredibly touched by the support our audience members showed us. We really appreciate the lovely messages we received, as well as the generous donations that were made.

The People's doesn't receive any public funds. The  majority of our revenue comes from ticket sales.  But this only goes some way towards the money needed for the upkeep of the building. Your generosity and the support of our community will help ensure our future.

There are several ways to donate...

Online

To make a single donation, please visit our PayPal Giving page. We'll receive 100% of your donation. You can set up a free PayPal account during the donation process if you don't have one already.

If you're eligible, please remember to add Gift Aid to your donation when prompted - we'll receive an extra 25p from HMRC for every £1 you give.

Donate by direct bank transfer

You can easily set up a one-off donation, or a regular standing order, directly to our bank account. If you have online banking you can do this yourself and if not, just contact your bank who will be able to do this for you. Please email our treasurer, Kate Scott, on treasurer@peoplestheatre.co.uk, and she’ll email you the donation form which gives all the details you’ll need, including how to gift aid your donations.

Shop with Amazon Smile

Amazon will donate 0.5% of the total price of any purchase when you use their Amazon Smile programme, at no extra cost to you. Search for People's Theatre Arts Group in the "pick your own charitable organisation" box, and remember to use smile.amazon.co.uk rather than www.amazon.co.uk each time you shop.

Shop with Easyfundraising

You can support us when you shop with a wide range of retailers via Easyfundraising, at no extra cost to you. Get started here!

Sell on eBay for Charity

You can donate a portion of the sale price of anything you sell on eBay (and reduce your seller fees at the same time) by using eBay for Charity. It's quick and easy to set up, then you sell and ship your items as normal.

Donate by Cheque

Please make your cheque payable to: People’s Theatre Arts Group Ltd and write your postcode and “Donation” on the back. Please post it to: Kate Scott, Treasurer, People’s Theatre, Stephenson Road, Heaton, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE6 5QF.

Donation Policy for Gift Aid

I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the current tax year than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations it is my responsibility to pay any difference.

I wish to apply Gift Aid and understand that the People's Theatre will receive an additional £1.25 as a result of my £5 donation - at no additional cost to me.
