_____

Carol Ann Duffy’s stunning reimagining updates a fifteenth century morality play into an assault on the modern consumer age, and a reminder of our own mortality.

God is a cleaner in marigolds, Death wears motorcycle leathers not a cowl, and the eponymous protagonist Everyman is a bad-boy banker who swaggers his way through a life of sex and drug-fuelled self-gratification.

The former Poet Laureate’s reworking brings this medieval classic bang up to date, and is both poignant and bitingly funny in its spiritual and ecological message.

Its premiere at the National Theatre in 2015 was hailed for its sparkle, boldness and wit, and we’re excited to bring this vibrant and exhilarating adaptation to our intimate Studio Theatre.
